Freelance Travel Writing Africa is the worlds second largest and possibly one of the most unspoilt continents, even though it is highly populated. There are 53 countries within it and various island groups too; the continent is diverse and holds many different people, languages and sub-cultures. Many UK tourists who go to Africa go for the incredible landscapes and the amazing safaris. Africa is the home of many exotic animals such as lions and tigers, giraffes, gazelles etc. Just some of the countries that make up the continent of Africa include Algeria, Angola, Botswana, Cameroon, Congo, Egypt, Gambia, Ghana, Kenya Libya, Malawi, Morocco, Niger, Rwanda, Senegal, Somalia, South Africa, Sudan, Togo, Tunisia, Zimbabwe and more. Some of these countries have documented troubles, so you just check before you go if it is a suitable time to visit.

There aren't many flights that leave from UK for Africa in general, so the rates are kept high. You can take direct flights from the London airports such as Gatwick and Heathrow, even though fights with changes can be taken from other airports, though the most convenient route is normally via London. Egypt, Morocco, and Tunisia are some of the very poplar destinations with low rates. During the British winter and summer months, flights are at finest rates, as travellers go for holidays during the summer breaks, and also to escape the winter of UK. The airlines available are Afrigihah Airways or Air France, even though Ryanair, Easyjet, and Thomsonfly fly to Morocco and Tunisia. Tambo International is the loal airport of Johannesburg, South Africa and also in Cairo, Egypt.

Although Africa is a large continent, the weather is generally warm it is located atop the equator. The weather is however cooler on the coasts; but the continent centre is very dry and hot. The normal heat in this area is 27 degrees centigrade. The northern and southern region has a rainforest belt and gets a wet season, during summer months. The average annual rainfall is between 20 to 60 inches.

Before going to Africa, you must get yourself vaccinated against diseases like malaria, which spreads by mosquito bites (you will have to get this 2 months earlier, and make all the required payments).

Safari is one of the top things for tourists to do. In Tanzania, there are many nature reserves to visit and watch. There will be special day drips you can go on where the tour guide will take you in a safe car to the best location and at a suitable time of day. In Tanzania, there is for example the specialized Chimpanzee program in the marks of the Mahal Mountains.

In Kenya there is a lot of lush land; Kenya is also a growing city and you can meet the locals and get n idea of authentic African life; it is also the home of the Masaii. There are lots of high end reports to stay in Kenya where even the Royals have stayed.

In Zanzibar, there are various beaches that are unspoilt; Unguja, Pemba, Mafia are all pristine. Don't forget you camera, and a good quality one at that, as well as suitable protective gear fro the extremely hot weather.
